Elders and Wisdomkeepers
- The Original
Turtle Island peoples' Love Flutes were made from
hollow reeds or wood in which the center was reamed or burned out,
then handcarved and finished in our Ancient Tradition. The Turtle
Island Love Flute was traditionally used by a man to play love
songs for courting and serenading the woman he loved. There are
stories throughout the many nations of Turtle Island of how
the first Love Flute came to be.
- In Ancient
times, the Love Flute was used as an instrument of meditation and
prayer to the Great Spirit by many Woodland Nations. Today we can
still use it for courting a loved one or for spiritual
meditation.
- These flutes
are tuned to F Sharp. Interestingly the natural musical frequency
of Mother Earth has also been found to be F Sharp. No accident why
the Original Peoples of Turtle Island have always been known as
the Keepers of the Earth
