Barfoot's American Indian
gallery and road show has traveled far and wide across Turtle
Island. Mark has shared his music, flutes and drums with many. Here
are a few memorable moments.

At the recent National Indian Gaming Association's
conference in San Diego, CA,
a few famous friends drummed and sang together
in Mark's booth at the trade show.
From left to right are singer/performer Keith
Secola, Indian rights activist and supporter Dennis Banks, artist
Mark Barfoot, and actor Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman. Red Crow is now passed on to the spirit world.
Each of these celebrities has a Mark Barfoot drum in his collection.

NATIONAL
INDIAN GAMING ASSOCIATION'S NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Ernie Stevens Jr Receives Gift
Ernie Stevens Jr, Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association,
is presented a gift from Turtle Island Arts by Phil Bautista representing
Mark Barfoot.
The Mark Barfoot elk antler breastplate commerates Chairman Steven's
third elected term as head official of NIGA. Ernie is from Oneida
Wisconsin.
The presentation was made at the recent National Indian Gaming Association's
annual conference held April 2005 in San Diego, California.

SPIRIT-THE
SEVENTH FIRE
Spirit,
the Seventh Fire is a Peter Buffett musical dance production.
It is a touring journey in dance celebrating America's first nations.
Peter Buffett is an Emmy Award-winning composer. He has created
and performed music for Dances with Wolves (Academy Award Best Picture
1990), The Scarlet Letter, 500 Nations, and Ojibwe, the PBS documentary
series for which he won an Emmy. Peter's unique and gifted style
combines ancient indigenous rhythms and songs with the heartbeat
of today's culture.
Mark Barfoot was chosen to create unique customized drums for
Spirit, the Seventh Fire. Mark is now an American Indian vendor
travelling with Spirit-the Seventh Fire during theircurrent tour.
Pictured at right is Peter playing one of the "big drums"
for the show made by Mark.

Buffy Sainte-Marie
Buffy Sainte-Marie is
a internationally known and loved Native American Indian songwriter
and performer. She is of the Cree nation and represents indigenous
people all over the world. Her songs have been recorded by top artists,
and her own recordings are beautiful and unique statements of her
Indian heritage and truth.
Buffy Sainte-Marie created a nonprofit organization called Nihewan
Foundation for Native American Education. An important part of
her foundation is a project called Cradleboard. The Cradleboard
Teaching Project turns on the lights in public education about
Native American culture - past, present, and most important for the
children - the Future.
Buffy
is seen at left with Mark Barfoot, wearing one of his traditional

one of Mark's ebony flutes

New
Vibrations
New Vibrations, a mystical and enchanting new book and gift
store in Jackson, Mississippi now carries Mark Barfoot flutes, drums,
and flute music CDs.
Shown at right is the shop's display of Mark's fine craft arts. Mark
recently gave a promotional personal performance and signed cds at
the grand opening of New Vibrations.

Winds Hand Drums, and flute music CDs, 'Moved
by the Spirit'.

Mark
Barfoot performed at the grand opening of the National Museum of
the American Indian Gift Shop during September, 2004. Mark's
drums, flutes, and CD's remain on display and for sale in Washington
D.C. at the beautiful new Museum honoring the First Nations of America. |

Dollywood
Mark
Barfoot at an extended appearance at Dollywood in November, 2003
during the Harvest Celebration. Dollywood
is located in Sevierville, TN and is Dolly Parton's theme park.
Mark performed and shared his Native
American flutes and drums with the public. Mark is teaching
Dolly Parton's sister in law how to play a Turtle Island Love flute.
